The Historic architecture of Mazatlan is one of the best things, the old town has been restored.Mazatlan is the only one city in the west coast which has his historic downtown know by old Mazatlan, all the architecture is since 19 century The Angela Peralta Theater was built in 1860, it is and European-style opera house finished in 1874 originally called Teatro Rubio, it was known of the best known centers for the performing arts in Mexico, by the 1920’s it was used as a movie house, in 1943, its name was changed to Teatro Angela Peralta in honor of Mexico’s famous soprano, the first time she came to Mazatlan the ship that brought her to Mazatlan also brought yellow fever, and she died before her first performance.
Canobbio Arcade, It is locate at the west side of the Plazuela Machado, and it is one of the oldest building in Mazatlan it is open as a museum since 1999, in the second floor you will see the lifestyle of a prosperous family of the XIX Century. The name of the museum is Machado museum.
Machado Plazuela, this is the Mazatlan’s oldest Plaza, named in honor of Juan Nepomuseo Machado who made a fortune here in commerce, The Machado Plazuela is center of cultural activities as artisans bazaar and art galleries. You can enjoy a nice afternoon and evening, sitting in one of the many sidewalk cafes.
Archeological Museum, here you will find a fine collection of all kind of artifacts made by the Indians who lived in this area before the Spaniards came, the Mazatlan Art Museum exhibit different works by Sinaloa’s finest artists.
